Grateful Dead – American Beauty (Limeade Green LP Vinyl)
Recorded at Wally Heider's Studio in San Francisco and released in November 1970, American Beauty captured the Dead at a moment of remarkable creative focus, completing two of their most enduring studio albums within the same year. The songs here took on second lives on the road, with "Friend of the Devil" and "Truckin'" evolving dramatically across thousands of performances over the following decades. This limeade green pressing makes an already essential record genuinely collectible.
A limited pressing of the Grateful Dead's beloved 1970 classic, American Beauty, on "Limeade" green colored vinyl. Features the 2020 50th Anniversary remastered audio in a direct-to-board jacket.
One of the most celebrated albums in the Dead's catalog, American Beauty arrived just months after Workingman's Dead and doubled down on the band's newfound embrace of folk, country, and Americana. Anchored by Robert Hunter's masterful lyricism and the band's lush vocal harmonies — honed under the influence of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young — the record gave the world "Box of Rain," "Friend of the Devil," "Ripple," "Brokedown Palace," and "Truckin'," songs that became cornerstones of the Dead's live repertoire for decades.
